Olivia Ville is back in the director’s chairman, because “Booksmart” and “Don’t Worry Darling” film creator are currently films his third director’s excursion, “Invitation” per variety. Wilde, who also had a small role in “Don’t Worry Darling”, will also appear in filmalong with a role that also includes Seth Rogen (As she recently showed up with “The Studio”), Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton. Main photography has started in Los Angeles.
As of variation, the film is invoiced as “a provocative date night comedy inspired by the Spanish film ‘sentimental.'” The original 2020 movie, directed by Cesc Gay, was a crusher in Spain and was nominated for several Goyas (won best support actors for star Alberto San Juan). The film follows two couples, neighbors who do not really agree, who gather for a dinner night that inspire some unexpected (and we guess, sexy and fun) revelations.
Gay’s film has already been redone in several countries, including Italy, Switzerland and France. The script for Wilde’s film was adapted by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, best known for its romantic dramant dramant “Celeste & Jesse Forever.”
An earlier version of the film would be directed by “Little Miss Sunshine” duo Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton and would start Amy Adams, Paul Rudd and Tessa Thompson. That version announced in 2023 But flared out sometime.
Wilde’s Direcing Card is quite full today, and she is also linked to Direct Universal Pictures ‘Christmas comedy “Naughty” and Warner Bros.’ “Avengelyne”, a film pass of the 90’s comic book, both of which will be produced by Luckychap. Also comes up: A lead role in Gregg Araki’s long -awaited “I want your sex.”
The film is produced by Filmnation Entertainment’s Ben Browning, Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison and David Permut. Patrick Chu, Annapurna head of film and television, produces executive. Filmnation Entertainment and Annapurna Pictures co -finances.
Filmnation Entertainment collaborates domestic rights with UTA Independent Film Group and handles international sales. The deal was negotiated by Filmnation Entertainment’s Alison Cohen and Ben Ryzak and Chris Corabi on behalf of Annapurna.
