The acquisition gives calls! Access to Gravita’s Venture library with 3,300 script, non-script and sports-related feature films, documentary and TV titles, and that means screaming! will have the luxury to continue to make partnership with brands such as Aardman Animations, Carol Burnett Show, Gkids and studio ghibliLaika Studios, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Golden Princess Movie Library and more.
But both brands remain intact, which means that they will continue to acquire content individually and will continue to function as separate brands. The added scale will allow both companies to better make money on its content over linear and streaming channels, with Gravitas especially as a large player in avod and the TvoD space.
It was specifically Gravita’s film library that made it such an attractive acquisition goal for Shout! Studies. CEO Garson Foos told IndieWire that the focus with Gravitas that is moving forward will be on “new editions in the pipeline and maximize the existing library.” Scream!
