Film As an annual event, the same name recognition does not have something as San Diego Comic-Con. After all, it is a convention for regional theater owners from all over the country that talks about theater windows and sees new models of projectors.
And yet, more and more, the big movie studios are treating Cinemacon as it is Comic-Con. Fanboy bloggers are invited, the best trailers and new pictures tease, and a parade of A-listers takes the stage at Caesar’s Palace Colosseum with prescribed HYPE sessions about their upcoming films.
No, not every year at the annual Las Vegas Congress is as eventful as that Olivia Wilde was served divorce documents on stage or when we were all convinced by some screaming fans that “The Flash” would be hugeBut there is a lot we are curious to see this year on the (very) large screen.
Does Amazon MGM have the goods?
Last year we wondered why Amazon MGM and Apple, who had proclaimed their commitment to theaters, were not in Vegas to present when “Sound of Freedom” Studio Angel Studios was.
At least one of these studios listened, and Amazon MGM debuts at Cinemacon on the Coliseum scene. Will they be movies that actually look theatrical and not just streaming movies considering a theater marketing?
And hey, it doesn’t hurt that Amazon MGM just closed its business for Amy Pascal and David Heyman to lead the James Bond franchise. It is too early to expect any news, but we bet they will remind people that Bond is back in good hands.
What comes after Superman?
Last month, James Gunn and Peter Safran spoke with one Small group of press with a miniature state in the Union About the new appearance DC Studios. More review has been paid to the team in Burbank Like Mike Deluca and Pam Abdy’s slate is finally ready after a couple of expensive flops like “Joker: Foil A Deux” and now “The Alto Knights.”

Welcome back, Sony!
Sony Pictures took the year off at Cinemacon 2024, but in 2025 is back to opening the Convention, namely because it prioritizes theaters by not having its own streaming service. Its slate includes Danny Boyle’s “28 years later”, Darren Aronofsky’s “Capting Stealing”, Kogonada’s “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey”, and of course some “Spider-Man” teases.
While Sony himself did not have a presence in 2024, its anime arm crunchyroll, and it has another “demon slayer” movie that meets theaters this summer that can also see when the tension around anime in theaters continues to gain traction.
We want more “evil”
Last year’s Cinemacon was the first time we got a real look at “Wicked” and Hype Universal had for it. Jon M. Chu was the presented speaker at a lunch at the end of the Convention, and they all knew they had a winner on their hands. Now we all know it too and they are prepared to take a victory laps, but the good news for both uni and theater owners is that they have another movie with “wicked: for good” already in can. We hope for a teasing pictures even though the entire trailer is probably months away from dropping online.
Universal is also screening for the first time its live -Action “how to train your dragon” in its entirety. Focus features have already promised us the first look at Wes Anderson’s latest “The Phoenician Scheme”, it has New Yorgos Lanthimos movie “Bugonia” cooking, and we would not be surprised to get some kind of taped video message from Chris Nolan from the set “The Odyssey.” ”
Can James Cameron top himself again?

Disney is too used to keeping celebrityomosis to a minimum and instead showing longer sequences from the films themselves, and we hope that “Avatar” is one of them.
