If what happens on vacation stays on vacation – what about the days between any event and from home? For a few punishment days before, it is time to check in for the next flight, people who act without consequences when on vacation is left to sit with exactly it and pore over their actions. You may not be able to relate, but characters in “The white lotus“Season 3 can safely.
Section 7 is about consequences, or at least what comes after making a critical choice. Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan), Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Laurie (Carrie Coon) finally speak their thoughts after too long tipping. Lochlan (Sam Nivola) chooses to run away rather than meeting what happened to Brother Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), while Sister Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) may regret her decision to spend a year from home. Greg (Jon Gries) confronts Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) about her story, and Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) struggles with the idea that the violence may not, like Luang Porta (Suthichai Yoon) put it in the opening, do “spiritual damage to the victim and the perpetrator”.
And it may not hold, but the most monumental choice in this section may be Rick (Walton Goggins) who chooses not to hurt the man who killed his father (Scott Glenn). Following Section 6’s memorable combination of Rick and Frank (Sam Rockwell) who had a conversation that laughed at least one of them to his core, the duo continues his shenanigans with an absolute Farcical visit to Jim (Glenn) and Srithas (Lek Patravadi) home. After dominating the previous night’s conversation, Frank is commissioned to bluff through his entire false meeting with Sritala, a trial so taxing that he is breaking his sobriety (the one bumbled me out, but I hope he is okay).
And dear Rick, after a lifetime of counteracting the man who killed his father and safely to avenge even if he was not sure to go through it – Rick confronts Jim, tells him the truth and follows his heart by doing … Nothing. He beats the old man (of a piece with the silly in the overall sequence), flags down Frank, and they run away as if they just dropped-ditched the place instead of almost leaving a dead body. Rick reveals that he was closing from the meeting alone, and the final shot of him in this section shows a whole new level of satisfaction in character.
When it comes to deadly interpersonal excitement, we must now turn to Belinda and Greg. After doing ignorance and then glowing at Belinda from all over the resort, Greg bold her to her home and to talk privately about their former acquaintances. There is relief at the end of the gas lighting, but fresh fear of Belinda when he offers her money – Hush money, no matter how delicate he puts it. He will obviously deny all Foul Play about Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), but the point is that he has the power and money to make loose ends that Belinda disappears, whether it is through a payout or other, more unfortunate means …
Superlative
- Most likely to die: I remain stressed over Belinda, But would it be too obvious after the season -long structure? I can’t help but think of Rick, isolated from the rest of the characters and probably feel more stable than he has done throughout his life …
- Horniest: Not a very horny section completely, but congratulates Laurie to prove whatever she was trying to prove!
- At least likely to die: Go with Chelsea if only to pair with the above notes on Rick. And I love her!
