Dennis Quaid Is set to mark a haunting role in his filmography: playing a serial killer. The lead role together with Annaleigh AshfordUpcoming Paramount+ series “Happy face” Follows real killer Keith Jesperson, also known as Happy Face Killer. Ashford plays as Jesperson’s daughter Melissa Reed Alias Melissa G. Moore, who is forced to confront the carnage caused by her father during the trial of another alleged murderer.
“Keith Jesperson is a serial killer,” Quaid told IndieWire about its character on Paramount+is the lodge in SXSW. “He killed eight women in five years. He was also the father of Annaleigh’s character, Melissa, and she had a very close relationship. Then she found out at the age of 15, when he was caught, that he was a serial killer. How do you unite to have the loving father, with this monster, what he did? It’s basically what the show “Happy Face” is about. That is what makes it different from many other crime thrillers out there. ”
“I play Melissa, who is a fictional version of Melissa Moore, the daughter of the lucky face killer, and in our story we see her coming out as not only the daughter of her father who is this serial killer, the happy facial murder, but we also see her make this terrible act into something good to help people, not just victims, but also.”
When it comes to their favorite memories on set, Ashford said it “laughed with our incredible crew. We had some pretty heavy topics to deal with every day, but we had a lot of laughs together. “Quaid simply said” all prison stuff “with a huge grin.
Tamera Tomakili, who plays Ivy, shared that her was when “Annaleigh and I drove in the car on a rainy day along the way and just listened to Beyoncé. It’s just when ‘Cowboy Carter’ came out, so there were some good times. James Wolk, who plays Ashford’s husband in the show, also revealed Hans. “In section three or four, we make this scene in a” oner, “he told IndieWire.

“Happy Face” will premiere on Thursday March 20 with two episodes, exclusively at Paramount+ in the US and international markets where the service is available. After the premiere, new episodes will drop every week on Thursdays, with the season finale on May 1.
