Rejoice! After several years Streaming rights between Angel studios and Dallas Jenkins’ 5 & 2 Studios, “The selected“Has been rescued by Amazon MGM Studios. In an agreement with Jenkins and his production unit, Amazon MGM has raised the flow rights for the first five seasons of “The Chosen”, as well as the coming seasons 6 and 7, all of which will be made available on Prime Video.
A new unwritten series from 5 & 2 called “The Chosen in the Wild With Bear Gryll” was also picked up by Prime Video as part of the deal. In addition, the business includes theatrical distribution for function length episodes, which will be part of the next two seasons. These will be the last items in the “The Chosen” series, and as such will cover both the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Although “The Chosen” may come to an end, Amazon MGM opens the door for Jenkins and 5 & 2 with an extra First appearance that covers both series and film projects. This comes after Jenkins had licensed the show to mainstream streamer’s prime video, peacock and Netflix, as well as released sections via the “The Chosen” app and in theaters through Fathom events, through which the series has done particularly well at checkout.

Jenkins announced this new partnership with Amazon MGM Studios through 5 & 2 Studios Live Stream on Youtube before starting in a conversation with the company’s manager for television, Vernon Sanders and development manager Traci Blackwell.
“‘The Chosen’ has had known success that imprisoned the audience over generations, and we look forward to collaborating with Dallas and 5 & 2 studios on a larger scale,” Sanders said. “When we look forward, we see enormous opportunities to develop additional troin-inspired content for our global prime video customers.”
Jenkins added, “For several years the team at Amazon MGM Studios has proven over and over again they are passionate about this show and our fans. They will make us better and get the show for more people, and I can’t wait to build this relationship. ”
Amazon also has a deal with one of Jenkin’s contemporary, Jon Erwin and his company Wonder Project, starting with its Biblical epic “House of David” About the fight between David and Goliath.
Jenkins previously told IndieWire about his the desire to build a cinematic universe from “the chosen”, Extend the different stories they can tell in and around the Bible, including the Bear Gryll series and an animated series.

Season 5 of “The Chosen” will be released theater on March 28, followed by a US streaming premiere on Prime Video some time in June. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Africa south of Sahara, the United Kingdom and Latin America will have access to the series further during the year.
