2025 WGA AWARDS WINNERS LIST (LIVE UPDATES)

With last year’s ceremony that took place in the shadow of 2023 strikes and function of the year in the aftermath Southern California fires2025 WGA AWARDS Have a lot of work to do when it comes to lifting your breath in the entertainment industry. Thankfully, good writing always has.

Like the tradition, events are held for the Eastern and West Coast branches in the author’s guild at the same time today at Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles and Edison Ballroom in New York City. LA’s business is hosted by the actor/comedian Joel Kim Booster and starts at 16:30 PT. For those who want to set at home you can look at the west coast soiree via Livestream when.

Under normal circumstances, tonight’s results would not necessarily carry much water when it comes to Oscars, this year’s award race continues to keep everyone on their toes. Many scripts that are Nominated At the 97th Academy Awards, including “Sing Sing”, “Conclave”, “Emilia Pérez,” “September 5” and “The Brutalist”, were actually not eligible for nomination with WGA as they were written by non-members. A similar circumstance arose last year by Justine Triet and Arthur Harari taking home Oscar for best original script (“Anatomy of a case”), but was not considered the same price by WGA. Last year’s WGA Award winner for adapted script, Cord Jefferson (“American Fiction”) continued, continued to win in the same category at Oscars.

This year, Sean Baker looks to pull off a trifecta with “Anora” after making both outstanding director in the theater feature Film at DGA AWARDS and Darryl F. Zanuck award for outstanding producer of theatrical films on Due to Awards (An honor he shared with his wife, producer Samantha Quan). Meanwhile in television and streaming, new programs such as “Shōgun” and “Fallout” are aimed at making a mark, while returning series like “Hacks” and “Abbott Elementary” wants each to knock out “The Bear.” David Lynch will also get a posthum screen Laurel Award, while “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan will accept the Paddy Chayfsky Laurel Award for TV.
