Nicole Kidman is one of the hardest working people in the entertainment industry, which is constantly filming both film and television projects, in addition to being a successful producer. And while the audience is still recovering from The perfect pair (as streaming with a Netflix subscription), we were offered the first trailer for a new thriller from A24. The trailer too Babygirl showing kidman going full Fifty shades of grayAnd I’m so hungry for it.
Recently Kidman had an age difference romantic movie opposite Zac Efron in A family affairbut Babygirl Looks much darker and more tense. What we know about Babygirl is limited, but the trailer above showed that Kidman’s Romy will be involved with a young employee, who turns his power dynamics on his head by establishing a judgment/sub-relationship. And it really doesn’t seem like we’ll have a happy ending.
This trailer too Babygirl Shows Romy who goes through a city and is almost attacked by a dog. She is rescued by a mysterious younger man Samuel (Iron cloneS Harris Dickinson), who shows up shortly after to start internaling the company where Romy is the CEO. The chemistry is electric, as Samuel almost immediately captures her unexpectedly with a joke about training her like a dog.
From there, things quickly escalate between the two characters. During a meeting, he makes lots of assumptions about Romy and claims that the mighty business woman actually likes “to be told what to do.” And that’s exactly what Samuel is starting to do, as the efforts for their situation continue to rise.
For example, when Nicole Kidman’s character tries to kiss the trainee, he pulls away and then becomes the attacker in the kiss. We also see how he makes her drink milk at a bar, in a sequence that would do do The boysHomelander proudly. And even though she is consistently amazed at the things he asks her to do, it also seems to be a huge turn on.
Unfortunately, it also seems that a disaster is raising after this hot business. For starters, Romy is seemingly married to Antonio Bandere’s character Jacob. And given her position of power in the company and Samuel’s status as her employee/trainee, she is also in a dangerous legal situation. Especially because Dickinson’s character reminds her of this in a thinly veiled threat, in addition to appearing in her family’s home unannounced.
There are clear 50 shades vibes in progress in the trailer for BabygirlEspecially since there have been so few projects that are focused on sub/judgment dynamics. And I am anxious to see how the story takes place, and if it becomes one of them Nicole Kidman’s best movies.
