As we head into the holidays, wishes and dreams are floating freely in the air, whether you know it or not. I honestly thought I had my run through it upcoming 2025 movies I’m most looking forward to locked, but apparently I was wrong. Thanks to a new trailer for Prime Video’s You are cordially invitedI think again that dreams do come true – like Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell have done a comedy together, and it looks hysterical.
While we’ve previously seen a teaser for the Nicholas Stoller-directed pic in the wild, this is our first full look at this R-rated laugh riot. The basic story remains the same: Reese Witherspoon’s on-screen sister is having a wedding at the same time and place as Will Ferrell’s daughter — and hilarity is about to ensue.
Although this new film is a little safer for broadcast language, the laughs are still very much present. Especially when poor Peyton Manning gets upset over one of the engagements that starts this whole mess. Seriously…Can Mr. Manning wait? Has he not earned the world’s respect through his sporting career? Is you shall tell this face to wait?
I’m honestly sitting here amazed that no one had thought of pairing this venerable before SNL alum and the iconic star of Legally blonde in an all-out comedy. Then again, Ms. Witherspoon’s point about the “death” of the rom-com type denotes the kind of thinking that can lead one to overlook such diamonds in the rough.
However, that mistake will not be repeated, either You are cordially invited has been given the hype train treatment throughout 2024. With the first teaser released in May and the raunchy humor at the forefront, this event has been treated as its own blessed event.
Ms. Witherspoon even got to hype the movie a special Will Ferrell birthday greetingbecause she’s not only a good friend, she’s also a great co-lead. No opportunity seems to have been missed to get people on board with this wild comedy, and this trailer further proves that point.
