Or maybe even the action?
McKenna does not agree. In fact, she welcomes the online unemployment and can even relate to the excitement.
“People will stand outside just for a glimpse of these actors and these characters they love to see them in the wardrobe have really excited people, especially since it is a fashion film,” McKenna told IndieWire while he was set to film on Met Steps. “We knew there would be a lot of interest. I personally had not experienced this level of people coming out (to the set), but it is the world we live in. In many ways we speak to a different world than we did in 2006. … It derives from as a legitimate desire to see these characters again. As long as everyone’s safe, which is still interested.”
“The Devil Wear Prada” met theaters in 2006, with its sequel that would now be released in 2026 in time for the 20th anniversary. Hathaway returns to lead film Like journalist Andy, who was most recently seen quitting with the fashion magazine and still landing a heartwarming referral letter from his former manager, editor -in -chief Miranda (Streep). The sequel has been Held under cover; Together with McKenna and the core crew, David Franke is back, with the following herd of producers, DPS, production designers and customers (Patricia Field made the costume designs for the first film) also back.
And as McKenna said, “Devil Wears Prada” is in itself a movie that puts fashion at the forefront. “I got some screams when I first saw them in the suit,” McKenna admitted that I witnessed Streep, Hathaway, Blunt and Tucci back in character. “I was like,“ Oh my good! “It was like my son’s bar Mitzvah or something. I Wanted to take pictures! “
McKenna continued, “I am a fan of these actors, and I just have to squeeze myself often. The heart and soul in this is the people. It has been really fantastic to see these people again.”
The highly published photography is just part of the celebration. “I think people really are really longing for personal experiences and common experiences, and they will seek them,” said McKenna, quoting the latest sold out “Summer in Petty” Bryant Park Outdoor Fan screening as a great example of Clamoring for Communal Cinematic Events. “The most wonderful thing about (‘The Devil Wears Prada’) is what it means to people. When you tell them you do, it really means something because it seems like (the original) marked some kind of important moments in their own life, and it is extremely gratifying and exciting.”
McKenna looks to include the fans’ love for “The Devil Wears Prada” in the creation of the sequel. “We have all known each other for 20 years, so it reflects our own developments and relationships, and it has been really cool and re -connected to people who shared this experience with you for the first time,” McKenna said to work again with the original role and the crew. “We also experience our own sense of nostalgia and visit this in the best way. It is a real reunion, and that is what we hope to do for an audience: to give them that feeling of a reunion too.”
