On the heel of Primetime Emmy nominationsThe TV Academy have announced that loved actors Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen will get the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award under the 77th Emmy Awards Ceremony and Telecast, broadcast on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
The honor, established in 2002, is intended to recognize individuals whose humanitarian work reflects the late comedian Bob Hope’s deep impact on society. The handful of former recipients include Oprah Winfrey, Danny Thomas (posthumously), George Clooney and Sean Penn. This will be the first time the award is awarded for a couple – two luminaires whose heritage outside the screen shines as bright as their decades of famous TV work (Danson has already won two Emmysand Steenburgen is a previously nominated.)
As a couple, Danson and Steenburgen founded the angels of the non-profit organization at risk with activist Susie Spain, who treats the crisis for children, teens and their families who are at risk for drug and alcohol abuse. Recently, the couple was also awarded the Nancy Pelosi Equaly Ally Award at 2024 Equality Pac National Pride Gala in Washington, DC for its years with proud and relentless to stand up for LGBT individuals and their rights.

Danson has also worked with and supported several other philanthropic organizations, including ASPCA, Climate Us Pac, Elton John Aids Foundation, Malaria No More, Young Storytellers and more.

The 77th Emmy Awards will broadcast live from PeaCock Theater on La Live in Los Angeles on Monday 14 September 2025, (20-11 et/17: 00 pt) at CBS Television Network and available to stream live and at the request of Paramount+.
