Jason Momoa unites a people in Apple’s “War of War” trailer


Jason Momo Am back in battle – this time for a passion project year in creation. “Game of Thrones” and “Aquaman” star collaborate with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett for Apple’s “War Chief”, based on true events in 18th century Hawai’i, for an ambitious nine-episod series unlike anything else on TV.

The series follows Warrior Ka’iana (Momoa), a famous fighter from Puna, Hawai’i, who tries to combine the tribes and the islands against Western colonizers, by his side is Ka’ahumanu (“Night Agent” star Luciane Buchanon), which calls Ka’iana “Fisten for our people in the face. As he prepares his community for the upcoming conflict, he must make a case for King Kahekili (Temuera Morrison) to lead the island, fight for his lives and protect as many people as possible. The trailer shows collisions on land and sea, with hundreds of background actors and hand-to-hand battle showing Momoa’s physics on the screen.

“This is your home,” explains Ka’iana in the trailer. “This country will keep you long after I’m gone … This is your home.”

The “War Manager” tackles his true history from the often ignored domestic perspective, with a majority polynesian role that includes tea ao o Hineepingha, Cliff Curtis, newcomer Kaina Makua, Moses, Siua Ikele’o, Brandon Finn, James Udom, Mainimaka, Tea Kinimaka, Tea Kinimaka, Tea Kinimaka, Tea Kinimaka, Tea Kinimaka, Tea Kinimaka, Tea Kinimaka. Doug Jung serves as showrunner and executive together with Sibbett, Peter Chernin, Jenno Toping, Tracey Cook and Brian Andrew Mendoza. The first two episodes are directed by executive producer Justin Chon, and Momoa will direct the ninth and final episode of the season.

Anders Engström, Jim Rowe, Molly Allen, Francis Lawrence and Tim van Patten also serve as executive producers, and the musical point is co -produced by James Everingham and Hans Zimmer, who wrote the show’s theme music. This is the second collaboration from Momoa and Sibbett, who worked together on 2023’s “Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom”, and the second major project between Momoa and Apple after the three -season dystopian series “See.”
