Glen Powell bending their action star skills in Edgar WrightS long -awaited ”The running man. “Powell leads film As one of the many American citizens participating in a game show called “The Running Man”, where murderous hunters are chasing competitors all over the world. Colman Domingo plays values for the reality show, with Wright reuniting with its “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” Alun Michael Cera also for the Ensemble role.
“The Running Man” is based on Stephen KingThe 1982 novel, which was published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. Wright together wrote the adaptation with “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” screenwriter Michael Bacall; Wright earlier announced that the movie will be more faithful to Source material than Paul Michael Glaser’s 1987 movie version with Arnold Schwarzenegger from 1987. Both the novel and the film were set in 2025, with Wright’s Iteration now that was to be released this year.
Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Katy O’Brian, William H. Macy, Emilia Jones, David Zayas and Sean Hayes also play.
Wright said during a performance on ‘Happy sad confused“Podcast in December 2023, which he felt as if the novel really had to get his because of the screen.” I like the movie but I like the book more, and they didn’t really customize the book. Even as a teenager when I saw the Schwarzenegger movie I was, ‘Oh, this is not like the book at all!, ‘“Wright said.” And I think: ‘No one has made that book.’
Lead Star Powell teased during Cinemacon 2025 that “The Running Man” was one of his most intense roles ever and said: “I’ve never worked harder on a movie in my life.” Powell too told indifire That it was “surreal” to work with blockbuster, especially filming at Wembley Stadium.
“Oh, we shoot a pretty crazy sequence in” Running Man, “he said.” We have taken over Wembley this week. It was literally my office. One of the boxes in Wembley is literally my hold area, it was my hair and makeup (place). We had an action sequence within the building as we did. It was a pretty surreal way to spend the day. ”
