Shane Gillis will host ESPY 2025, ESPN announced Tuesday.
The comedian will take the stage at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater to host Sport’s biggest night on Wednesday, July 16. 2025 Espys, presented by Capital One, will broadcast live at. 20 ET/PT on ABC and will stream live on ESPN+.
Gilli’s appointment that hosts marks a transition from the latest ESPYS hosts, who have recently seen beloved sports stars host the awards ceremony. Serena Williams was worth 2024 and other hosts from the last few years include Stephen Curry, Russell Wilson, Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird, Danica Patrick and Peyton Manning, among others.
The star “Tire” and writers join a number of non-athletes who have hosted the Espy, including Anthony Mackie, Tracy Morgan, Joel Mchale, Drake and Jom Hamm.

Gillis is currently in the middle of his standup tour that will bring him to almost 40 cities. He also created and stars in Netflix’s “Tire”, which follows “Will (Steve Gerben), an unqualified heir, (who) tries to reverse his car repair business while he endured the plague from his now employed cousin Shane (Gillis),” Per the official log line.
Gillis played college football at the US Military Academy before transferring to Elon University, where he also played football before transferring to West Chester University.
Espys are co -produced by ESPN and full -day production, with EPS for the show including all day of today Connor Schell and Dave Chamberlin. In addition to broadcast live on ABC and ESPN+, Espys will also be available for
Power the next day at Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+.
