“Things got pretty spicy once in a while,” McClanahan wrote in her book, “but what meant most to each of us individually and we all as a group: the chemistry worked. We were fucking fun. And we did it together. That’s what counts at the end of the day.”
White was five months older than Arthur and the oldest of the four Golden girls stars, but she survived them all with more than a decade before her Died December 31, 2021Only 17 days shy for his 100th birthday.
Estelle Getty died 84 on July 22, 2008, after fighting Lewy Body Dementia for almost ten years. “Our mother-daughter relationship was one of the biggest comic duo ever, and I will miss her,” Arthur said in a statement at that time.

In an update for a new pocketbook edition of her book in 2010, White wrote to lose all three co-stars, including “recently, my beloved Rue McClanahan, has been very difficult to take. When working so close together, for so long and are blessed with such success, you are locked in your heart.”
