Van tuffler comes back to produce 2025 Video Music Awards.
The producer has signed a multi -year agreement with his studio Gunpowder & Sky, which he founded with Floris Bauer, to serve as producers for the annual awards ceremony, CBS and MTV announced on Tuesday. Toffler and Gunpowder & Sky will serve as producers for VMA’s together with Thieves.
During the New Deal, Van Toffler will help expand the VMAs from a single night to a week -long, multiplatform celebration of music and music videos leading to the main event. During the week before the September 7 show, MTV will broadcast a week with 24/7 music videos – both classic and current – over MTV2, MTV Live and MTV Classic and pay tribute to the origin of the show.
During the leading week, former VMA winners and MTV personalities will highlight their favorite music videos over the channels.
“The VMAs have always been there music and spectacle collide, and no one embodies that spirit more than van Toffler,” said Paramount Co-Ceos Chris McCarthy and George Cheeks in a statement on Tuesday. “To bring the van back to the VMAs, together with Gunpowder & Sky, is about reigning the rebellious soul in the show with a week -long music immersion and delivering global moments that are impossible to ignore.”
“We don’t just produce a show,” added slippers. “We are launching a celebration of music that extends over a week, every screen and every generation. Music has always been VMA’s heartbeat, but the show’s soul comes from its will to break rules, embrace unpredictability and reflect the times. It is about honoring that spirit while it is possible to inflate what is possible.”
2025 VMAS will be broadcast live from the UBS Arena on Sunday, September 7 (8: 00-11: 00 PM, ET/5: 00-8: 00 pt). The CBS broadcast will be simulcast on MTV with an hour of live-by-show to air over paramount networks, while streaming on Paramount+.
