2025 Emmys turned out to be a watching success and grew its audience from last year by 8%.
The 77th annual awards ceremony received 7.42 million viewers over CBS, Paramount+ and other platforms, according to Live-Plus-Day display data from Nielsen. The ceremony was the most guarded Emmys since 2021, the last time it was broadcast on CBS. It was also the most guarded live entertainment program at CBS since Grammys.
In addition, the Streaming of the Awards show increased at Paramount+ 76% from 2021. Entertainment evening Emmy’s pre-show, which went from 19:14 to 20 et, an average of 3.26 million viewers. It also increased by 12% from ABC’s 2024 red carpet.
On social media trends the event as No. 1 in the United States for seven hours in a row. It also stayed in the top 10 for 11 hours.
Last year, the 76th Emmys brought in 6.87 million viewers on ABC, which marked a 54% uptake from 75th annual awards ceremonywhich received 4.46 million viewers when it was broadcast in January 2024 at Fox.
The 77th Emmys was a night full of surprises, which started with “The Pitt” star Katherine Lanasa who won the best supportive actress in a drama series against her “White Lotus” competitors, as well as “Somebody somewhere” star Jeff Hiller won supportive actors in a comedy. The night ended with two big winnings for “The Pitt”, with Noah Wyle who took home Emmy for best main actor in a drama series, as well as an overall drama series -victory, although “Severance” still got some love for the principal actress in a drama series for Britt Lower.
